Looking for something to spice up your dreary winter wardrobe? Would a beautiful leather bag work, especially one that not everyone else has? Luxury Accessories International has a store on the Upper East Side filled with tons of drool worthy purses and accessories. My favorite are their leather bangles. All the pieces are made in the US and all bags have the option of being made to order. A huge advantage if you want the handle a little shorter or longer.
If you are anything like me, the inside of your purse is not something you would want to share with most people. There are lots of floating receipts from Duane Reade and despite my best intentions, lots of other scraps of paper. But there are also somethings that I won’t leave home without. Namely my Softlips cherry lip balm, Laura Mercier Creme de Pistache hand cream and a pen. No matter how small my purse, I always try to have all three. I always wonder what other women have in their bags, especially the ones that are so big they look like small suitcases. Well apparently other people are fascinated by this also. The English Muse certainly is and according to her, so are 20,000 members of the Flickr group “What’s in your bag?” And Anthroplogie just used that as the story behind their most recent catalog.

So, what’s in your bag?

This pin up wall calendar would make even your most dreaded appointments worth looking forward to! Not a surprise considering how beautiful everything is from OrangeBeautiful. If you are in Chicago, make sure to visit their store.
What are you looking forward to this year?

A meal at Tipsy Parson is just as cozy as your home, but the food is better!
I know it is hard to get out of bed when it is freezing outside, but if you are going to do something fun, it should be a little easier, right? Why not check out Chelsea and the High Line (and have some great food also). Here is a great itinerary for today. Come on, get out a little bit, and then go back home and be a lazy bum.
In an effort to support local vendors, each week I will feature a different Etsy seller from the New York City area. If you have any favorite sellers, let me know!

This weeks Etsy seller isn’t local to me, but is local to one of my favorite bloggers Makenzie Sala at Something Old Something New. So when she mentioned this shop last week, I had to pass it on to you. Besides, Gleenashop sells beautiful handmade ceramics, which I love, so I had to share. Especially these adorable ice cream bowls. They even have a dimple for your thumb!

Enjoy some great food, a free show and some amazing artwork all in the Columbus Circle area this weekend. For my detailed itinerary head to cbslocal.com
If you have spent a lot of time in your home during this cold dreary winter, you might be thinking of changing things up a bit. This can easily be done with a few small purchases. You will be amazed how different everything feels with the addition of something as small as a new throw pillow on the couch. Home Remedy NYC has an amazing selection of house and gift-ware, that best of all you won’t find in all of your friends apartments also. Everything they sell is modern and fun, and not too expensive.
Here are a few of my favorites:

The sombrero wearing men on this pillow just make me smile.

I love this platter more for display than to serve on.

Start the year organized. This jar would be a great place to store all sorts of little trinkets.
How are you going to spice up your place?
I have a few days off over the next two week and some of them are going to be spent curled up on the couch watching lots of movies. Cozy as that sounds, I think would be a lot better if it was with one of these fabulous throws:
Though I would be a little nervous to drink hot chocolate and spill it, I would be willing to forgo a cup to cuddle under this gorgeous chunky wool throw from Serena and Lily. This site is a new find for me and has quickly become my favorite not because of their unique selection of housewares and gifts from baby to adult, but because they help you visualize the possibilities of all of their products in such a wonderful way.

This comfy wool throw from Garnet Hill would bring some color to a dreary winter day.

Like your favorite sweater, this cozy knit throw from West Elm would be the perfect companion to conquer the stack of magazines that might have built up in your mail pile during this busy month and won’t break the bank.

All of the above would also make wonderful last minute gifts. (and I won’t tell anyone if you buy a second one and keep it for yourself!)

Considering so much in our life has become digital, it is nice to have somethings printed on actual paper. While my schedule for the next year can be opened with the push of a button, I still enjoy having a printed calendar over my desk. Since I don’t really need to write much on it, these beautiful ones by Etsy seller Once Upon a Paper are a perfect option. The one above displays the entire year all on one page. The style pictured below offers one month per page, but in a small desktop size making it a perfect stocking stuffer or treat for yourself to brighten up your desk.
