Through the Looking Glass

May20

A few months ago, I told you about the amazing flowers at my cousin’s fabulous wedding at Bubby’s Brooklyn. Well, yesterday she shared some of the amazing photos taken by her talented photographer, Henry Chan of henry shoots. I know you will enjoy them too.

Here are a few of my favorite:

Congratulations again to Jaclyn and Sam. What a wonderful collection of photographs to remember this beautiful day.

Wow

Ok, I admit, I did wake up at 5:30 this morning to watch the pageantry of the Royal wedding. I have to say that her dress was just perfect. But what I loved most was how happy the couple looked. This picture from the Huffington Post really captured that.

No one I know is going to the wedding, but Ali over at Paperyandcakery has shown us how we can have a taste of our own version of the Royal Biscuit Cake. Thanks for sharing.

What were your impressions of the wedding and of course of THE dress?

psss – this one is on sale for only $35

Fight the Monday morning blahs with a little hair-sparkle. Hair accessories from Koyanagi are the perfect answer to turn your day-wear into night-wear. Or to turn that bad hair day into a fabulous one. I had the pleasure of meeting Cyd Koyanagi, the designer a few weeks ago and couldn’t wait to share her fabulous pieces with you.

Which one is your favorite?

Remember this beautiful couple whose engagement photo-session I shared with you back in the fall? Remember how amazing those photos were? Well they got married at a spectacular wedding a few months ago and the wedding pictures were even better than the engagement shoot. Their photographer Autumn Lin really captured the wonderful day and I just had to share my favorites with you. See even more of them here on Autumn’s blog.

I am a little biased on this one (I’m on the left in the one shoulder dress).

Some of the amazing details that the bride managed to pull off with a very full time job and without a planner.

Congratulations again, Sari and Ben!

One of my favorite parts about attending a wedding are seeing the flowers. It always amazes me how different a room can look with the addition of flowers and even how different the same room can look with different flowers. Last weekend I attended my cousin’s fabulous wedding at Bubby’s in DUMBO. I was too busy having fun to take photos of the flowers, but they were out of this world. All the fabulous design was done by Nicolette Camille Floral Design and I have never seen such unique flowers all in one place. Above are some pictures from her website, which speak for themselves. But if you need a little extra vote of confidence, I can tell you she just an absolutely wonderful job transforming an already warm and beautiful space, to an even better one.

Etsy Find of the Week: A Likely Story

February7

In an effort to support local vendors, each week I will feature a different Etsy seller from the New York City area.  If you have any favorite sellers, let me know!

I have always loved charm bracelets because they are so personal. I love those made by Etsy seller A Likely Story, especially because their themes all revolve around literature and for their vintage feel. These are even fun for the non-book lover, because they are just very playful. Any piece would be a great conversation starter.

Lovely in Leather

February1

Looking for something to spice up your dreary winter wardrobe? Would a beautiful leather bag work, especially one that not everyone else has? Luxury Accessories International has a store on the Upper East Side filled with tons of drool worthy purses and accessories. My favorite are their leather bangles. All the pieces are made in the US and all bags have the option of being made to order. A huge advantage if you want the handle a little shorter or longer.

In the Bag

January19

If you are anything like me, the inside of your purse is not something you would want to share with most people. There are lots of floating receipts from Duane Reade and despite my best intentions, lots of other scraps of paper. But there are also somethings that I won’t leave home without. Namely my Softlips cherry lip balm, Laura Mercier Creme de Pistache hand cream and a pen. No matter how small my purse, I always try to have all three. I always wonder what other women have in their bags, especially the ones that are so big they look like small suitcases. Well apparently other people are fascinated by this also. The English Muse certainly is and according to her, so are 20,000 members of the Flickr group “What’s in your bag?” And Anthroplogie just used that as the story behind their most recent catalog.

So, what’s in your bag?
